Pupils from a Madrasah delivered over 100 gifts to elderly residents at a care home.

Pupils from Madrasah Zeenatul Quran, visited Haydock care home in Blackburn.

Maulana Faruk, Principal of Madrasah Zeenatul Quran and Mr. Zubair Vali Mulla (Project Manager at Al Khair Foundation) who organised the project said, "We go to care homes every Christmas to give gifts to the elderly as many of them are alone on the Christmas day, so this time Maulana Faruk and Zubair Vali Mulla, Project Manager at Al Khair Foundation, decided to visit a care home and non-muslim people's houses who lives near Madrasah Zeenatul Quran to give them Eid gifts and share blessings.

"Many of the people here live with dementia and spending time with the young ones brings them joy and happiness which is so lovely to see. 

“We were teaching the children about people in the community and wanted them to learn more about our elderly generation. We wanted the children to interact with them, as we understood the benefits for both generations."

Madrasah staff went to people's houses with the children to hand out Eid gifts.
