A family are celebrating the birth of their very own ‘royal’ baby who arrived during Saturday’s wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
While tens of millions watched the Royal Wedding on television, 32-year-old mum Sajida Jabeen from Accrington was giving birth to daughter Eshaal Emaan at Blackburn Birth Centre.
Sajida’s bouncing baby girl, who weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces, timed her arrival in the world to perfection. Born two weeks early at 12.07pm on Saturday 19 May, Eshaal Emaan now shares her birthday with a wedding celebration the whole world will remember.
Proud dad Mohammad Faiz, said: “We’d like to thank all staff at the Birth Centre for the care and treatment my wife and daughter have received.”
Katriona Trafford, Lead Midwife at Blackburn Birth Centre, said: “We were delighted to present the parents with a hamper of baby goodies fit for a princess!” And, in return, Mohammad and Sajida presented Birth Centre staff with a beautiful cake and flowers.”
Mother and baby are "doing well", while Eshaal’s brothers Ayman Ali, 13 and Aniq Ali, 9 are delighted with the arrival of their new sister.
