A charity has been commended for its work with widows, orphans, the poor and the needy of Pakistan. 

The work of the Community Lighthouse Foundationhas been recognised in the country where they host a number of projects.

Trustee Ghulam Mujtaba said, “We are currently working in three distinct areas, Overseas aid, in the local community here in Pendle, and the third is youth development. 

"We have several projects on the go at the moment and we are building a ‘Training & Education Centre’ for the neediest of children, especially orphans and poor children in Gujrat.

"We are grateful to Mr Malik, who’s vision and hard work is helping the delivery and success of these projects and we are extremely grateful to all our donors, volunteers and supporters without whom none of this would be possible our success of these projects locally and abroad.

"We aim to alleviate the causes of Poverty with the new training centre providing education in IT, Language and essential life skills.”

Lancashire county councilor Mr Azhar Ali said, “CLF are really doing some great work that is making a difference in the Burnley and Pendle community as well as helping the less fortunate overseas.”

Community Lighthouse also runs youth activities in Burnley working closely with Burnley FC in the Community to help up to 75 young people stay focused through football sessions and coaching organized at Prairie Sports Village every Friday Evening. 

This is a continuation of the historic work carried out by CLF Trustees. He has previously held the position of the Vice chairman of the Voice Pennine Forum which has been set up to tackle Extremism and Islamophobia across East Lancashire.
