Volunteers and mosque representatives were thanked for raising £11,007 for a hospice.

The East Lancashire Hospice invited fundraisers to a special dinner to thank them for their monumental efforts during Ramadan.

The event was arranged by Suleman Khonat, and was kindly sponsored by Star Tissue UK.

It featured a talk by hospice day patients Hakeema Hussein and Khatija Nakhuda, fundraising manager Sharon Crymble, Dr Bailey and chairman of the Trustees Graham Parr.

The hospice then revealed that £11,007 had been raised by the group through collections at 21 mosques. This was in addition to the £9,000 volunteers had raised in January.
