A community centre will host a fun day later this month following a number of recent changes to the building.
Bangor Street Community Centre which is now run independently has seen a number of recent renovations and changes.
New signage went up outside the centre for the first time and the car parks on both the Calder Street entrance and the Troy Street entrance has been re-marked and re-laid.
Further work has been undertaken in the Slyncs Youth area.
Community Groups FACE (Family and Community Enterprise) and Purple Patch have seen their services expand and both will move into further spaces in the building.
Iqbal Bhai, Centre manager said, “It has been a busy few months for the centre in recent months.
“The new sign has been complimented by new bins and the youth lounge area has been completely re-painted.
“The lighting outside the centre is also fully operational.
“I do hope users can see the difference.”
The car parks were renovated in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Iqbal added, “By September the building will hopefully be fully occupied. We are thankful to all the community organisations and users for helping to achieve this.”
The centre will hold its first Community Fun Day in partnership with the Blackburn with Darwen Young People's Services on Saturday August 19th.
