A KNIFE-WIELDING carjacker has targetted a lone woman loading supermarket shopping into the back of her Volkswagen Polo.

It happened at about 7.30pm yesterday in the Asda car park in Cemetery Road.

The woman was approached by a man with a knife who demanded her car keys. The suspect snatched them from her then shouted to another man who jumped into the passenger seat before they drove off.

The woman was not hurt and the car was later found in Randall Place in the Manningham area.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Bradford District CID, said: "Our enquiries are continuing today to trace the suspects in what was a nasty robbery on a vulnerable lone woman.

"We believe there were other people in the car park at the time who may have seen or heard this incident and I would ask them to contact us.

"The suspect with the knife is described as an Asian male who is believed to be around 16 or 17 years old.

"He was wearing a black hooded top with draw strings, blue jeans and a white top which had a pattern or writing on it.

"He is described as about five feet six inches tall, with a skinny face and stubble. He was also carrying a small black 'man bag'.
