Former Apprentice contestant and now Loose Women presenter has unveiled her ten point plan to stop radicalisation.

Writing in the Daily Mirror today Saira Khan says girls should only be allowed to wear headscarves after the age of 13 and no more mosques should be built in cities such as Bradford because they promote segregation.

On schools she says, “Put a stop to single Faith schools – I was brought up in a mixed co-ed Comprehensive School. It was my local school and it’s where all the kids from where I lived went.

“School was where I learnt about British culture and way of life. I attended all the assemblies, school fairs, Christmas parties etc. If I went to a Muslim school, I would have missed out on this."

Addressing the issue of mosques Saira said, “Stop the building of more than one mosque per city or at least be more aware of how many are built in mixed communities – Bradford has more than 100 mosques.

“These mosques promote sectarianism and division within Muslim communities. We have to ask ourselves, do we need so many mosques?

“All Muslims in Bradford can be served by one or two big mosques – like most cities only have one cathedral.
“Muslims do not need to attend a mosque to pray – they can pray at home too.”

She calls for Imams to be British born, saying, “Ensure every Imam in the local mosque is British Born. This is common sense – how can you learn a holy text if Arabic is not your mother tongue and the guy teaching you can’t speak English or refuses to translate in English.

“I have seen children learning the Quran without being told what it means, or putting any of the text into a modern day context of the country they live in.”

Saira adds that Ofsted reports should be made available on all mosques in the country and that unelected community leaders should be removed and only the local MP and charities should represent community issues.

She writes, “Stop wasting money on community leaders and give the money to local charities who can provide help and support to people with specific needs.”

She asks for the deportation of all known terrorists who are not British Born back to their homeland.

“This sends a very clear message to everyone that there is zero tolerance of extremism in the UK – British people after every attack are asking: 'Well if he was known, not British, why didn’t the authorities do something about it?'

“We need a quicker no nonsense approach to dealing with people who want to destroy our way of life.”

Saira adds, “Release images of suspected terrorists in the UK 'name and shame' - including white extremists.

“If there is a suspected terrorist in my area, I want to know about it.
"We should all feel informed and empowered to protect our local areas and also report anything that we feel is suspicious."

She then asks to “ban segregation in all universities and monitor every Islamic and other religious societies within that university.”
Saira goes on to say, we need to “identify and name all the practises in Muslim communities which go against British values and way of life.

“By this I mean - forced marriages, racism, homophobia, arranged marriages to spouses from abroad they have hardly met, first cousin marriages, digital TV channels that promote violence, misogyny, rape, inequality and forced religion.”
