YOUNG people carried out a litter pick in one of the Bradford district’s parks.
The spring tidy, carried out by Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Bradford North chapter, was part of the GB Spring Clean campaign being run by Keep Britain Tidy.
The litter pick in Undercliffe’s Peel Park was one of many charitable and community initiatives carried out by the AMYA this year so far. The group is also organising blood donation sessions, charity collections, children’s hospital and nursing home visits and feeding the homeless says
Aosaf Basra, who is Youth Leader for Bradford North, said: “Members of our Association have enjoyed living in Bradford for decades and so any opportunity to help our local community is much welcome.
“Cleaning the streets of Bradford also presents us with an opportunity to become better Muslims as cleanliness is an integral part of our faith.
“We are peace loving British Muslims and will continue to do all we can to serve our local community as best we can and wherever there is a need.”
