Three people have been charged after a video emerged allegedly showing a hate incident on a tram.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the charges are in relation to the tram incident in Manchester city centre and two assaults in Trafford.

Aaron Cauchi, 19, of Salford, has been charged with two public order offences and assault.

Robert Molloy, 20, of no fixed address, has been charged with racially aggravated assault, two further assaults and a public order offence.

A 16-year-old from Pendleton, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with two public order offences and assault.

GMP said all three have been bailed to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on November 8.

At around 8.45am on Tuesday June 28 police were made aware of a video on a tram heading towards the city centre.

They were also made aware of assaults later that day in Trafford.
