Council Directer Sayyed Osman ‘Braved the Shave’ for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sayyed who is Director for Localities, Housing and Prevention at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council was joined by the Mayor Hussain Akhtar.
During the day of events held at The Mall Blackburn shoppers also helped raise money by visiting the range of stalls and participating in raffles.
Also present was a stand from Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership (MCIP) in East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.
The team were on hand to discuss the pioneering programme to provide better care and support for cancer patients, from the moment of diagnosis to beyond treatment.
Jez Such, Macmillan Partnership Manager for Lancashire, said: “Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is the nation’s biggest fundraiser for cancer, which raised £27.6m across the UK in 2015."
