THE family of a toddler killed when he was hit by a car have thanked the community for their support.

Muhammad Ahmed, known as Bilal, was hit by a black Renault Clio in Ellesmere Road, Morris Green, last Thursday evening and died in hospital later that night.

Flowers, cards, and candles paying tribute to the three-year-old have been left at the scene, which was outside the home of his aunty, Yasfa Aslam.

She said: "I want to say thank you to everyone in the community for their support.

"It shows that people really do care and we have been totally overwhelmed by the support we have received.

"There are more flowers every day and little prayers that people have written.

"It really means a lot to me and all of Bilal's family; we are all very grateful."

An inquest into the three-year-old's death opened yesterday at Bolton Coroner's Court and was adjourned to a future date.
