A £10,000 reward has been offered by police for the arrest of a man wanted for questioning over the murder of a jailed Manchester gang member.

Abdul Quadar Ahsan, 19, was held on suspicion of murdering Andre Marshall, 29, earlier this year but he failed to answer police bail in July.

The body of Marshall, who had been a member of the notorious Gooch gang, was found with gunshot wounds to his torso and leg in Manor Park, Urmston, in the early hours of May 20.

Marshall was jailed in 2008 for seven years over an assault at a Moss Side gym in which the victim was hit over the head with a sub-machine gun.

Following his death, friends paying tribute said he had turned his back on gang life.

The reward is on offer for any information which leads police to Ahsan's arrest.

Ahsan has links to Manchester, Leicester and Pakistan.

Two men appeared before Manchester magistrates last week accused of conspiracy to murder.

Meanwhile, police remain keen to speak to the driver of a white van that was captured on CCTV driving in the area. The van had to brake heavily to avoid colliding with a silver BMW that pulled out from Manor Avenue onto Stretford Road at 12.45am on May 20. Police said the driver is not a suspect but could help with their inquiries.
