Traditional indoor and outdoor Indian games proved to be a hit at a Sports Mela.
Over 200 participated in a variety of indoor games and track events at an event supported by the Bolton Hindu Forum and held at Harpergreen Community Leisure Centre in Farnworth.
The event began with an opening ceremony and closed with trophy awards.
'Kho Kho', proved to be a big hit. This is a tag game consists of two teams where one team sits/kneels in the middle of the court, in a row, with adjacent members facing opposite directions.
The team that takes the shortest time to tag/tap all the opponents in the field, wins.
Carrom, strike and pocket game was another game which attracted lot's of interest.
The Chairman of the Forum Manu Mistry said, "The project was a huge success in that it managed to inspire many who normally wouldn't to take part and hopefully motivated them into sports activities so vital in our life."
In attendance was Madam Mayor Ms Carol Swarbrick and Mayoress Jaleh Hayes.
