A mosque has donated over £4,000 towards the Coronary Care Unit of their local hospital.

Members of the Masjid-e-Noor in Preston raised £4138,38 after a fundraising drive for the Royal Preston Hospital. And they invited worshipers from the mosque and representatives from the CCU Unit to the mosque for a special presentation.

Aarif Patel, President of the mosque said, “It was a brilliant effort by everyone at the mosque.

“One of our colleagues needed treatment and we noticed the hospital had an outdated non-evasive ventilator so we decided to contribute towards it.

“The money was raised purely through donations from members of the mosque. We decided to have a small presentation at the mosque and asked members to bring their children.”

Mr Patel said the mosque felt it important to assist a cause that affects everyone in our community. “The new equipment will assist everyone in the region.

“We would like to thank all the GSM (Gujrati Sunni Muslims) Society Masjid-e-Noor members for their support. The mosque and the local community are always generous when we look to raise money for different causes.

“Finally, Eid Mubarak from everyone from the mosque.”

Nichola Calcutt, CCU Manager said, “The whole CCU team are so grateful for the generosity of the members of the Noor Mosque. We will use their kind donation to purchase a new ventilator to help the patients who come to our unit.”
