Dr Kailash Chand OBE has been re-elected to his role as Deputy Chairman of the British Medical Association (BMA).
He said, 'It is an honour to be re elected as deputy chairman of the BMA council for a third year in a row.
'I have more than a passing understanding that BMA members feel outraged and incensed about the broken agreement over pensions and the implementation of an unnecessary and damaging Health and Social Care Act in England.
‘Our NHS is at a massive risk. The junior doctors see huge uncertainty in their career prospects, public health is in disarray and staff and associate specialist doctors' genuine grievances remain unresolved. My beloved general practice is imploding due to lack of resources and funding. "To effectively fight these huge challenges we need a united BMA. I will concentrate my energies and skills to achieve this common goal of the Council, chair and chief officers."
