STAFF at Axa Insurance offices in Bolton have completed a week of activities to underline their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The workers from the Parklands office carried out work at the Asian Elders Resource Centre — which provides services for older Asian people — in Northfield Street, Deane.

Nine employees arrived at the centre at 9am with gardening tools in hand to get the grounds in tip top condition for the rest of the summer.

After a full day of gardening, it was transformed.

Centre manager Shabeen Rehman said: “I can only say a big thank you for doing such a wonderful job with the garden. Our members are looking forward to enjoying the garden in this lovely weather.”

AXA National Trading Centre employee Laura Malley said: “Thee whole day was great and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

"It was hard work, but it was worth it. We just need the sun to come out now so that they can make the most of their new garden.”
