REVIEW: UDN 'Glassy'
You know the kind of music video that makes you want to climb into the screen and be a part of the fun?
Well UDN have just created one for their song ‘Glassy’. Made up of Nav, Ruman and Gary, the Bradford boys from UDN have produced something fun to dance to, listen AND watch.
‘Glassy’ is an up-beat, bhangra, dance track that will no doubt be requested at all future Asian wedding functions.
I’m trying not to be too kind to the song as I’m sure it won’t be to everyone’s taste so if I had to find a fault, my only criticism would probably be the topic.
I totally agree with one comment posted on their YouTube video that this subject has been sung about enough now.
However, with bhangra tracks it is less about the content of the lyrics as it is about the beat and the dance ‘factor’ and this song is definitely dance-able.
Their video is enjoyable to watch too. The boys display some nice imitable dance moves and there’s no sign of half-naked girls dancing around them in a club.
Finally, a change from the norm and I am more than happy to welcome it.
My Verdict: The song may not sound like anything new at first, but it definitely sounds like a hit. The video is entertaining to watch and the dance moves...nicely done.
Will I be downloading it from iTunes? Yes. I may even burn it on a CD and play it in the car for the days I feel like shaking my shoulders.
