Swimmer Pravin Nagla has slammed Esporta gym for making him go home in his trunks after his clothes were stolen
An exclusive sports club has been accused of bare-faced cheek after it forced a customer to walk home in swimming trunks after his clothes were stolen.
Hairdresser Pravin Nagla, of Seven Kings, was a guest at Esporta Gym, in Woodford Green, when he returned from the pool to find his locker had been broken into and £650 worth of his belongings were missing.
Mr Nagla's friend - Veena Jay-D'Sani - was so upset by the incident she tried to cancel her membership at the gym, but has since been told she will face legal action if she fails to pay off the remaining months of her contract.
Mr Nagla said: "I was swimming at the pool as a guest, and when I came back to my locker all my stuff had gone - my clothes, watch, keys, wallet, the lot.
"When I went to speak to the manager he said that he was sorry for what had happened, but I wasn't offered any clothing to wear, and had to go home wearing nothing but a pair of swimming trunks.
"It was freezing cold, and humiliating. My friends still haven't stopped laughing at me about this."

Ms Jay-D'Sani, of Newbury park, says she is horrified by the treatment her friend received from the gym, which has threatened legal proceedings if she tries to withhold her membership fees.
She said: "I'm appalled and disgusted as I have never known a prestigious establishment like that to fail in their customer care and general human decency.
"I wanted to terminate my membership as I no longer felt safe putting belongings or credit cards in the lockers. I wouldn't want anyone else to be treated how we have been.
"I have tried to contact the manager on many occasions but have been ignored."
A spokesman for Esporta Gyms said: "This was a very unfortunate incident and we regret it happened on our premises.
"It was a wilful criminal act for which we have no liability but we have offered Ms Jay-D'Sani's guest (Mr Nagla) a three month's free membership, worth £276 as a gesture of goodwill."
They should have at least provided Mr Nagla with a gown/robe or the very least allowed him to stay until a friend could bring him some clothes from home. I hope the apology by the gym is sincere.
