Men charged after kidnapping

Four men have been charged today with kidnapping an Indian man in Thornton Heath, Croydon at the weekend.

Five men, aged between 25 and 46, were arrested after the victim was allegedly coerced into a car around 5pm on Saturday in London Road.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was taken to a house in Kemp Gardens, West Croydon. He escaped on Sunday evening.

Four men, all Tamils, have been charged with abduction and false imprisonment.

Two of the five arrested men are also being investigated in connection with immigration offences.

The victim, who has not been named, is also understood to have been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
