Here, we take a look at some of most inspirational winners in the run-up the 10th Fusion Awards ceremony.

In what remains one of our most emotional nights and awards the ceremony honoured the work of Sylvia Lancaster of the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.

The mother of murdered teenager Sophie Lancaster established the Sophie Lancaster Foundation which helps to break down ignorance about people and communities.

The foundation focuses on creating respect for, and understanding of subcultures. It has also helped to extend local authorities definition of hate crimes

The foundation said, “We are very proud to have this award in recognition of our work in Sophie's memory and it is another important part of her legacy.”

The Fusion Awards has helped to highlight the fantastic work of volunteers, charity workers and entrepreneurs through the North West. The ceremony in 2016 will be held at King George’s Hall, Blackburn on Saturday, May 28.
