Nagindas Gandhi, a community worker from Preston said he was moved to have been honoured with a Community Achievement Award .

He was helped to stage at Fusion and said it was the first time in his life he had been honoured with any sort of award.

Hundreds of guests saw community champions, sports heroes and entrepreneurs honoured at Fusion 2014.

 

 

This years’ event at King George’s Hall in Blackburn was the biggest Fusion Awards ever.

Mr Ghandi came to the UK in 1962 and since 1981, Mr Gandhi has been serving as the President of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Preston, where Mr Gandhi is an active volunteer.

It was always his passion to promote a better community spirit.

As well as raising funds for charities such as cancer, stroke, Diabetes, kidney research and international aid despite his aching muscle joints he never fails to participate in the annual sponsored walk.
