Preston Muslim Girls’ High School’s results rose with 87% of students gaining five GCSE passes or more across all subjects at A*-C.

Impressively 100% of students obtained A*-C grades in English language, English literature and food technology.

The highest achieving pupil was Maryam Patel who achieved 12 A*s. Tahreem Haq, the school’s head girl, achieved top grades in all of her 11 GCSEs with 7 A* and 4 grade As and Fatimah Zahra Patel achieved 3A*s and nine grade As .

Headteacher Mufti Javid said: “I would like to congratulate all the girls on their hard work and application.

“I am certain that their excellent GCSE results will provide a strong platform for their future success. “We wish them all well.

“A special thanks to all of the staff and parents as well. We know how important this partnership is in ensuring that our pupils achieve and often exceed their potential.”

The school was also a DfE ‘Top 100 School’ two years running.
