Pupils from Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School raised a remarkable £3,000 for poor children in the UK.
The funds will go towards Tauheedul Relief Trust’s Winter Warmth Campaign which aims to provide warmth to thousands of children across the UK.
The trust works in partnership with Save the Children to tackle child poverty and deprivation in the UK.
Mubaaruck Ibrahim, chief executive of the school said, “Once again, our boys have demonstrated their commitment to excellence and community service, and campaigning hard for disadvantaged and vulnerable children in the UK.
“It is incredibly humbling to see pupils raise a phenomenal amount of charity within a few days.”
Save the Children’s John Lambert said, “We’re hugely impressed by the pupils of Tauheedul Boys’ School for their ongoing support.
“The pupils’ efforts are tremendous.
“Save the Children’s Eat Sleep Learn Play! programme offers families living through hard times support in the UK.
“We know that everyday items can be expensive for families in poverty and we are here to help those facing difficult times to make sure that their children have the basics they need to eat, sleep, learn and to be able to play at home.”
