Representatives from a leading events company visited a North West school to share their experiences about event management.

Members of the Supreme Dream Events team provided an insight into events management to the children attending Lady Barn House School in Cheadle. The juniors at the school took part in a presentation during assembly and also had the opportunity to ask questions.

They were taken aback by what they had seen and heard about being an events manager and were eager to find out more about the role.

The role of event managers has developed over the years and is now fundamental in the growth of both the marketing and hospitality industries.

Event organisers are responsible for the production of events from conception to complete and types of events can include exhibitions, conferences, festivals, concerts, product launches and dinners.

Despite the glamorous appeal of being an events manager, the children learnt that being a good communicator, creative, a team player, a problem solver and having the ability to make quick decisions are all skills required to be a successful events organiser. They were quick to notice how transferable the skills were and how some of them had them already.

The events team finished by telling the school that the most important reward for all the work they put into their events is customer satisfaction and the pleasure and pride they feel from doing a good job. The children had lots of questions including, ’Have you ever staged an event for somebody famous?’ & ‘How long do you have to plan in advance?

DJ Fritz of Supreme Dream Events said, “Choosing the right career path is not an easy thing to do especially at that age and its great to have the opportunity to inspire the next generation.

"The response from the children was great and hopefully one or two of them grow up to make a difference in the local events industry.”

Mrs Flynn AGT Coordinator at Lady Barn High School said, "We would like to thanks Supreme Dream Events for taking time out of their undoubtedly busy schedules to come into school and share their expertise and experience with us.”
