The national Exam Results Helpline remains open until noon on Saturday 24th August.

It offers a lifeline to students (and their parents) across the UK who recently received unexpected exam results.

Experienced, impartial and friendly careers advisers are on hand to talk through all the options, including further or higher education, vocational qualifications, taking a gap year or finding employment.

Over the last week, advisers on the helpline have supported over 4,500 students to make the best decisions for them about their futures.

The Exam Results Helpline can be reached on 0808 100 8000. Calls are free from landlines. Mobile network charges vary.

David Murdoch, a student who called the Exam Results Helpline, said, “It was really great to have someone properly explain my options - what I could do, alternatives I hadn’t thought about, and the processes I needed to go through. Best of all, I got objective advice.”

Nick Hynes, Exam Results Helpline careers adviser, said, “Disappointing exam results are a setback but not a disaster. It’s imperative that students have access to expert and impartial advice after unexpected results. We’ll help them to explore their options and identify alternative ways of achieving their career goals.

"The Exam Results Helpline is open until noon on Saturday 24th August so if you need advice about your future, make that call! We are happy to speak to parents, family members and friends too.”
