A 24-year-old is one of 14 people from across the country to win a traineeship with one of the country’s biggest and busiest museums.
Tanisa Gunesekera, from Stroud Green, beat hundreds of others from around the UK to secure the programme at the British Museum.
The traineeship is part of the new Strengthening Our Common Life programme run by Cultural Co-operation and is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
It aims to increase the number of Black, Asian, and minority ethnic people between the ages of 18 and 25 in the national heritage sector.
Ms Gunesekera will take up a year-long, full-time work-based traineeship at the museum, supported by a £13,500 training grant.
