The Black Training and Enterprise Group has published a leaflet to assist parents of school age children when they are meeting with the school to stop racism or bullying.

The three page leaflet entitled contains 11 practical tips and useful website links for parents. Alarmingly, a government funded study into bullying found that almost half (47 per cent) of young people reported being bullied at age 14.

One of the most difficult experiences for parents is dealing with racism or bullying at school.

Jeremy Crook OBE, Director of BTEG, says: ‘We often meet parents that have found it really difficult to resolve racism and/or bullying at their child’s school.

“They feel frustrated if the problem persists and can’t always find the school policies for dealing with racism and bullying on the school’s website. I hope this leaflet will help parents/guardians in these stressful situations to think carefully about how best to manage their meetings with the Head Teacher.’ The leaflet can be downloaded from: http://www.bteg.co.uk/index.php/Downloads/Education/Education-guides/Dealing-with-racism-and-bullying-in-schools/Download.html
