Building is completely renovated

A historic town centre building has seen a major make-over a year since a local Asian-owned company bought it.

KNA Investments LLP acquired Regent House, based on Regent Street, Blackburn August last year and set about completely renovating the premises.

Nasar Sadiq said, "Whilst we wanted to refurbish the premises we didn't want it to lose any of it's historical charm because that was what gave the building it's alluring looks.

"Work was done to wiring, walls, ceilings, floors all of which were in a dire state of repair."

"A substantial amount of refurbishment work was done to bring the building up to modern standards including the replacement of all the windows and re-pointing of the entire front of the building making it an impressive landmark in the town centre."

"The interior has been been completely refurbished and re-designed."

The imposing building is approximately 10,000 square feet split across 3 floors. It was formelly used as a training centre for Blackburn College and a Women's Resource Centre.

Prior to this is was used as a Inland Revenue Office from 1939.

However, despite catering for small businesses on floors two and three, the bottom floor of the building is still being used for the community.

"The Drop in Centre is being used by a community group and it has proved to be very popular."

"Again when this was designed it was done so with specific needs in mind."

"We also have a number of partner businesses operating from the building. Those include Pulse Locums, Beacon Teaching and JK Resources."

Pulse locums-supplies locum pharmacists to local and national Chemists such Asda, Boots and Superdrug. Whilst Beacon Teaching specialise in providing supply teachers throughout the Lancashire area and professional translation and Interpretation services.

One of the most defining features of the new building is the state-of -the art conference and function room situated on the top floor. The room has been designed by Interior designers BIBI Life who kitted the room out to startling affects.

"The room includes a custom built cinema area that can be used for presentations. It also features a break out area with bespoke Turkish designed soft seating and a contemporary water feature that was specially commissioned for the room.

"Presently, we have half a floor available for rent, which is an open area and includes a private office (boardroom), and kitchen. The area is newly furnished with cat5 cabling, new ceiling and carpets."
