Restaurants and takeaways were recognised at the sixth annual English Curry Awards in Manchester.

The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, welcomed over 350 guests from across England in a celebration to reward the best in the curry industry.

“With a vast amount of restaurants and takeaway in England the competition is always fierce. To be amongst such passionate people who love what they do, is truly inspiring.” said, Yasmin Mahmood, Operations Director of event organisers Oceanic Consulting.

As well as recognising the curry industry in all its facets, the event also raised funds for the official charity partner The Well Foundation.

Healthy Curry Provider went to Delhi6 Restaurant (Sutton Coldfield).

Best Marketing Campaign went to James Dahl Indian (Birmingham).

Best Restaurant Design went to Prana Indian Restaurant (Cambridge).

General Manager of the Year went to Mohammed Jamil (Gurkha One, Nottingham).

Curry Product of the Year went to Shemins (Ascot).

Celebrity Chef of the Year went to Anjula Devi (Hampton).

Best of Manchester went to Forts of India.

Best of Birmingham went to Tipu Sultan.

Curry King 2016 went to Jahangir Saddiq (Tipu Sultan Restaurant).

Outstanding Restaurant of the Year went to Kiplings Restaurant (Sowerby Bridge).

Awards were split into three regions, with regional winners and one overall winner

Caterer of the Year, North went to Aziz Catering (Bradford).
Caterer of the Year, Midlands went to The Five Rivers Group (Birmingham).
Caterer of the Year, South went to Greenleaf Catering and Events Management (Southall).

Caterer of the Year, overall winner is Aziz Catering (Bradford).

Chef of the Year, North went to Tariq Mahmood (Kiplings Restaurant, Halifax).
Chef of the Year, Midlands went to Dr. Ijlal Haider (Old Hall Restaurant, Dorrington).
Chef of the Year, South went to Ansar Ali (Spice Lounge, Mildenhall Suffolk).

Best Home Delivery Service, North East went to Spice Island Tandoori & Pizzeria (Sunderland).
Best Home Delivery Service, North West went to Tuk Tuk Indian Takeaway (Preston).

Best Home Delivery Service, East Midlands went to Spicy Flames (Leicester).
