Every day, millions of people around the world use their smartphones to live stream events all around the world.
The Livestream company has a better idea: a new camera, introduced here at the Consumer Electronics Show, to live stream events, weddings, conferences and the like.
The Movi, which sells for $199 beginning in April, doesn't have to be hand held--it can be placed anywhere, with a super wide angle 150-degree 4K lens that can not only pick up the wide shot, but through the magic of cropping, medium and close-up shots too.
Users can switch angles from wide to medium to close with a companion smartphone app. Livestream calls the Movi "the pocket-sized live event camera that let’s you edit while you film."

"With your phone, you have a limit of how long you can hold it and you have a limited battery life," says Max Hoat, the founder of Livestream. "If someone calls you, the livestream is interrupted."
The camera has a memory slot for micro-SD cards, so the productions can run long, and be stored.
Livestream offers live streaming services to companies such as Tesla and Disney, and says some 50 million folks watch its live stream events each month.
