If you ever loved the game show Crystal Maze then you might want get yourself down to the Escape Room.

Opening in Preston on Monday, September 14, the Escape Room is a new concept which aims to build teamwork and give participants fun puzzles to complete.

Samir Patel, manager of the Preston branch told us, “The response so far has been pretty good. It is perfect for families, friends and even corporate events.

“The Escape Room is an exciting, interactive game which involves 2-6 players to solve puzzles, find clues and escape within the hour.

“These live escape rooms are perfect for any social group including friends, family and also good for cooperate companies team building exercises.

“In order to play the game efficiently you will need to find all the hidden objects and figure out the clues to earn your freedom and escape the room.

“It sounds pretty simple however there are a lot of red herrings around the rooms which will miss lead you and a limited time of 60 minutes.

“We have five rooms that are based on TV shows each room has a synopsis which allows you to get into character.”

Samir explained what you can expect from some of the rooms.

• Prison Break: “You have been falsely accused of murder and are sentenced for the death penalty, the guard has gone for a one hour break and within that time you have to escape, a previous inmate has left clues around to help you.”

• Mummy: “You are archaeologists and have made a discovery that there is an elixir for immortality in the pharaoh’s tomb. A group of people are after the portion and are on their way you have one hour to find the elixir before they find it or else you will be trapped inside for all eternity and suffer the Thutmosis wrath. However the pharaoh has not made this easy as he has scattered puzzles and traps to show that you are worthy of the elixir you must solves these puzzles.”

• Taken: “Your boss’s daughter has been abducted by international criminals and is being used as a ransom. Authorities have gathered information of the where about of where she has been held captive, they have been informed that the kidnappers have gone to meet someone and will be back in approximately a hour within that time it is in your hands to rescue her.

Vampire chronicles: “You are in the middle of a 1000 years’ war between vampires and humans. The vampire king has condemned you for death and has previously ordered his minions to kill your family. You and your companions are held captive in his castle.”

• Gallery: “You are highly experienced master thieves that are planning to break into a thief proof gallery. Your goal is to steal a priceless painting which will be on exhibit for a one day only event, due to this security is on maximum level. You all have to work together to escape with the painting before you get caught however you only have one hour.”

Samir added, “We are the first Escape Room venue to be opening in Preston. We are based on Aqueduct Street next to Pashas sheesha café, the postcode is PR1 7JN.”
