To celebrate two decades of business Tile Mart, unveiled a stunning 30-foot tall sculpture outside their flagship store in Preston.

The family owned business created the stunning sculpture named Helix 20 to celebrate 20 years of business in the city.

The Helix 20 is a sky reaching structure, clad in over 100,000 tiles it expresses the company’s continuous drive and ambition. It suggests the upward motion and energy, which the company explores day to day in its business.

The structure is clad in mosaic tiles from moulded aluminium, a development of an ancient tile form into something absolutely of the 21st century and a fusion of ancient heritage and modern design is symbolic of Tile Mart’s well founded passion and drive to grow the business further.

Celebrity designer Wayne Hemingway MBE officially unveiled the sculpture before VIP guests that included the Mayor of Preston, Cllr Nick Pomfret.

The Hemingway’s grew the business from a stall on Camden Market, before selling out in a multi-million pound deal in 1995. Today, Hemingway’s business is involved in a number of regeneration and design projects and was impressed by how the Tile Mart Directors had invested in art to give something back to the City of Preston in celebration of their success over the last 20 years.

The company has built up a robust reputation through their commitment to helping every customer realise their designs without any compromise.

Tile Mart’s commercial division services an impressive clientele from all over the UK and abroad.

The business is scheduled to rebrand in September 2015.

Mr Hemingway said, “The Helix 20 is going to be another focal point in the city and it is heartening to see that Tile Mart is investing in design in every part their business”

Luckman Ismail, Tile Marts Business Development Manager said, “The HELIX 20 is a dynamic sky reaching structure, clad in tile, which expresses the company’s drive and ambition. We are delighted that Wayne Hemingway shares the ethos behind our business and would like to thank him for supporting this historical milestone”

Zabir Patel, Tile Marts managing director added, “We created the Helix20 to celebrate the success of our business with the people of Preston. Already we have had hundreds of passers-by marvelling at this inspirational work of art”.
