Test drive theft: CCTV released

THIS man is wanted for questioning by police after a car was stolen during a test drive, and a salesman was injured.

These CCTV images and an E-fit have been made public today, following the theft of the blue Chrysler Grand Voyager estate, in a lay-by on the A355, just before the M40 junction 2.

It happened between 3pm and 3.09pm on Friday January 20.

Police said a man had arrived at a dealership to look at the car around 2.30pm and was asked if he wanted a test drive.

The offender initially declined so a member of staff drove.

After a while, he pulled into a lay-by and swapped seats, but the culprit said he could not work the electrics to move his seat, police said.

The offender started the car and pulled out into the carriageway, just as the salesman got around to the drivers side, leaving him holding on to the door.

As the car sped up the victim let go and fell into the road, breaking his left hand and suffering minor cuts and grazes to his right hand.

The dealership salesman received hospital treatment and was released the same day from Wexham Park Hospital.

The offender is described as Asian, in his late twenties or early thirties, 5ft 7ins, clean shaven, of medium build, with short dark hair.

He was wearing a dark blue pinstripe suit with light blue stripes. He had light blue shirt underneath with collar open and was not wearing a tie.

He was also wearing brown woollen gloves and carrying a small black canvas bag with two handles and no strap. He was well spoken with a London accent.

The car registration was KV10 BBE.

Police want to speak to the man pictured.
