THE mother of a baby girl found dead in a garden could need urgent medical or psychological attention, police believe.
Officers today renewed their call for anyone with information about the woman to come forward, a day after the grim discovery at a house in Bury.
And they have appealed directly to the mother to come forward.
The baby girl, who is Asian or mixed race, was found wrapped in a blue and white shawl at a garden in Tinline Street at around 11am yesterday.
Police are still waiting for the results of a post mortem examination to find out the cause of death for the child.
It is not yet know if the baby was stillborn or died after being left in the garden.
Police are also checking CCTV cameras in the area.
