The inaugural Royal Rajasthan Gala was a star-studded and glamorous occasion.
English and Indian royalty, Hollywood and Bollywood stars and celebrities from the music, fashion, society and business worlds all combined to make the event a tremendous success.
Hosted by His Highness Gaj Singh II Maharaja of Jodhpur, the occasion raised profile and funds for the Indian Head Injury Foundation. Prince Charles was the patron of the Gala.
Those in attendance to support the Indian Head Injury Foundation included Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan and Kabir Bedi, Bianca Jagger, Sir Bob Geldof, Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York, Lord Linley and his wife Serena, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Patrick Hermes, Upasna Kamineni from Apollo Philanthropy, and business tycoon KP Singh.
Sigourney Weaver co-hosted the evening and added her specially commissioned designer dress she was wearing to the list of auction prizes, and also premier tickets for her forthcoming film, James Cameron's Avatar.
The Indian Head Injury Foundation (IHIF) is supported by Apollo Philanthropy which was represented at the Royal Gala by Upasna Kamineni, Vice President, Apollo Philanthropy.
Upasna said: "We are thrilled with the response to this initiative and we want to thank everyone who made the event such as success in raising the profile of the Indian Head Injury Foundation. We would particularly like to thank his Highness Gaj Singh II Maharaja of Jodhpur, without whom none of this would be possible."
