A bride-to-be has made headlines after she berated her maid of honour who got engaged before the bride’s big day.

The bride-to-be claimed that her best friend would no longer be focused on her wedding and would be distracted by her own plans.

We asked our readers, is it ever fair to steal the bride’s thunder?

Sapna said a divorce announcement on her wedding overshadowed her special day.

She told us, “My wedding was like a fairy tale. Every detail was just perfection. Up until the moment my cousin and her husband broke out into a massive argument.

“It was no secret that they had been having trouble in their marriage but they couldn’t control themselves and ended up shouting at each other on my wedding day. She yelled at him saying the marriage is over and she wanted a divorce.

“This was all before I got to cut my cake or do my first dance.

“Video footage of them arguing was sent to more family members than my wedding pictures.

“I haven’t spoken to my cousin since that day.”

Arsheen said her mother-in-law stole her thunder on the wedding day by trying to upstage the bride in her choice of outfit.

“I wanted to wear a traditional colour on my wedding day, so I went for red.

“I never imagined my mother-in-law would wear a bright red colour too.

“I personally don’t think it looks dignified for an older woman to wear such a loud colour to a wedding, especially that of her son’s.

“It was the exact same shade as mine. I know she did it on purpose.

“She got bridal hair and makeup done on herself too.

“She even managed to wear heavier jewellery than me.

“The only difference was that I had the dupatta on my head and she didn’t.

“I only get one special day in my life to be a bride and my mother-in-law had to ruin that, all because she was so desperate for attention.”

Tina reveals her sister-in-law’s announcement of her pregnancy eclipsed her own wedding celebrations.

“She could have announced her pregnancy a day later. There was no need to do it on my wedding day.

“I can’t even tell anyone I am upset by it because it makes me look petty.

“I know she made a conscious decision to do it.

She said the whole thing was quite petty in the end, “She was jealous that I was getting all the attention and she decided to do the one thing that would guarantee all attention on her.

“She got up to make a speech after dinner and that was when she announced it.

“It’s really selfish.

“I would never do that to anyone.

“There are certain unspoken rules of how to behave at a wedding and what you shouldn’t do or say.”
