A volunteer has raised a whopping £17,892.59 this year for his local Hospice!

Longtime East Lancashire Hospice supporter, Suleman Khonat worked tirelessly during Ramadan to raise the money.

Suleman first became involved with the hospice almost nine years ago and since that time has raised thousands of pounds to help the hospice to care for its patients.  Suleman is also a regular visitor so can see exactly the difference the money raised makes.

Approximately 24 mosques this year allowed collections during Ramdan and in addition to a town centre collection at The Mall, this has contributed such a fantastic amount.

Hospice Fundraising Manager Sharon Crymble said, “Suleman works tirelessly to not only raise funds, but also tell the community the difference the hospice makes and how it can help them at a time when it is needed.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the mosques that were involved, the support makes a huge difference to our patients and their families.”
