Hundreds of people were treated to an evening of dance, music and fashion at this year’s Celebr8 event.

Part of the Commonwealth Activities the aim of the event is to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together to celebrate commonwealth links and promote unity in diversity.

The festivities also included a breath-taking fashion show, which was inspired by the celebrations of India and the rich colours of the South Asian continent.

Councillor Trevor Hart, the Mayor of Preston, opened the evening and even showed off his own dance skills!

Other guests included the leader of Preston City Council. Cllr Matthew Brown, former Mayor of Preston, Cllr Brian Rollo and Trisha Rollo, Cllr Yousuf Motala, Cllr Peter Moss, Mr Gulab Singh MBE, and Faruk Desai MBE.

The event was organised in partnership with Kreative Productions (Neetal Parekh and Kailash Parekh) and UCLan.

Kailash said, “We would like to thank everyone who attended.  We did not expect such a wonderful turnout.

“Each performance touched the audiences heart. A big thank you to all the performers and all those who took part."

Among the highlights was a performances by Khushi Limbachia, 5, Deeya Goodwin and Jayden Patel both 7, the Swati Raut and dance group and Arpita and Ayona.
