A man who was involved in a crash in December and suffered serious injuries has died.

Wasim Zayn, aged 31 was on life support at a hospital in Nottingham after the accident last month and his life support machine was switched off on Sunday.

He was travelling on the M1 back to Yorkshire from the Midlands on December 28 with his wife and children.

He was thrown from his vehicle and was then run over by another vehicle resulting in multiple serious injuries.

His body will be repatriated back to his parents who reside in the Islamgarh area of Pakistan after a planned funeral at the Faizul Islam Masjid in Birmingham  (1pm, Wednesday 17 January).

He leaves behind two young children and a wife.
