SIR Alex Ferguson was pictured getting lost in Blackburn over the weekend.

The 75-year-old ex-Manchester United manager was going to Ewood Park on Saturday to watch his son Darren Ferguson's Doncaster Rovers team face Blackburn Rovers.

However a United supporter got a surprise on his lunch break when he was stopped by the former Old Trafford boss in Whalley Range.

Khizum Mirza said: "I was at work and went to Manchester sweet centre on Whalley Range in Blackburn on my lunch break when I was walking back from there i was stopped by Fergie.

"He was lost wanted to get to Ewood Park so I gave him post code to put in sat nav."

It was around 2.30pm when the incident happened.

Mr Mirza added: "At first, I didn't have a proper look I just thought it was some random person who was lost and needed help when I looked inΒ  the car that's when I recognised him.

"I quickly took my phone out and took a pic. I couldn't have a proper chat as it wasn't a convenient place and not the right time."

Meanwhile, the appearance of Ferguson sparked reaction on social media.

One person posted on Twitter: "As if Alex Ferguson got lost and ended up in Blackburn?"

Another said: "What is Sir Alex Ferguson doing in Blackburn?"

The Scottish manager eventually made it to the ground to see Doncaster Rovers win 3-1.
