A MAN has appeared in court accused of blackmailing Bolton-based boxer Amir Khan.
Hamza Din is accused that he "on March 27 at Middlesbrough with a view to gain for yourself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, made an unwarranted demand of money from Amir Khan with menaces".
The 27-year-old, of Durham, and previously of Marton-in-Cleveland in Cleveland, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court yesterday.
Din's case was sent to Bolton Crown Court where there will be hearing on October 31.
He remains on unconditional bail until then.
No reporting restrictions were imposed by the court.
