“I made my first ever video in February this year. I had zero followers on Instagram. It’s unbelievable to think that I have over 24,000 followers now, four months later.

“I am now recognised everywhere I go! It’s amazing that a few funny clips on the internet have led to a celebrity status.

“Every time I go to Wilmslow Road with my family, we always get stopped for selfies. It’s a wonderful feeling meeting the people who watch the videos. We love the attention!”

Usman’s videos are a regular feature on other Instagram pages including Spotted Desi, Dekh Beta and many more.

The short clips which boast thousands of views are a distinct indication of the leverage he holds with his loyal fanbase.

“My first few videos were me alone, but now my family feature in the videos. That’s what makes them so appealing to the followers.

“My wife Aneela Usman, who initially disapproved the idea of making videos, is now a regular face in the videos and loves every moment.

“My friends often ask to appear in the videos, but I like the format of it being a family feature.

“Lots of businesses have messaged me for shout outs, but I have turned them down. I don’t want this to be a commercial concept, just some light-hearted fun.

“All the episodes and incidents that we portray are things that people can relate to, like the jealous wife, women and makeup, desi weddings, the ‘pendu’, children eating in Ramadan while their parents are fasting and more.

“I got so many messages from people saying they could relate to the video.
“Because the videos resonate with so many people, they then share them on their Instagram pages and on Facebook, which increases my followers.

Usman said he enjoys watching the videos shared by fellow vloggers, but maintains that his content holds a unique appeal.

“There are some great YouTubers out there but I particularly like Rahim Pardesi.
“What makes my videos so unique is that it is made with all my family in tow.
“My son Ayaan Farooq is six and my daughter Ehleen Usman is three.

“My son enjoys reading the comments that people leave.

“Because my family are in the videos, I only ever get positive comments.

“My wife and I discuss the ideas for the video together before we film it.

“It really is a full on family project!

“There will be upcoming special features, so keep a look out for that.

“I am so grateful for all the support and am looking forward to seeing how many followers I have by the end of the year!”
