A 'Muslim Barbie doll' has been created called Hijarbie Barbie.

The new doll appears complete with a hijab accompanying her trendy outfits which can be viewed on the @hijarbie Instagram account.

'Hijarbie' was created by 24-year-old Haneefah Adam, from Nigeria, who wanted to create a doll that dressed in a manner that she could resonate with.

Speaking to Style Mic, Haneefah said, "It got me thinking about how I'd actually like to see a doll dressed up like I would have- covered up.

"I was mulling about the idea for about three months while I was still studying for my master's degree in the UK.

"When I got back to Nigeria, I went to the mall, purchased a doll, dressed it up, documented it and here we are."
