The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall attending a reception and dinner for supporters of the British Asian Trust at the Natural History Museum in London.

The night proved to be an extremely successful event with distinguished guests and star attendees turning out to support the charity and raising an astonishing £900,000 to benefit the Trust and it’s various projects in South Asia.

The Trust announced their plans for an extensive campaign to raise up to £3 million for Pakistan, supporting skills training for some of the country’s most disadvantaged people. The project will see the charity partner with, the Aman Foundation, who have contributed £1 million, and with the UK government.

The prince, who is president of the trust, founded the organisation in 2007 to take action against the widespread poverty and hardship he saw in south Asia.

The royal couple were joined by among others Leona Lewis, actor Sanjeev Bhaskar and Simon Cowell.
