Dear Massi, I want to get married. But I just can't find the one.

Everyone tells me I am too old-I'm 39.

I was engaged when I was 24, but the guy broke it off because he thought I was too heavy. I admit I have weight problems. I'm currently a size 20.

I have tried online matrimonial websites. But it freaked me when guys started asking for photos of me in my underwear.

My parents think someone has put nazar on me and that's why no man wants to marry me.
I have been out with a couple of guys through work, but the ones I went out with had never gone out with a 'big girl' so it was like they were just ticking a box.

When I was younger I did get a couple of marriage proposals from people in my parents village in Pakistan, but it's quite obvious they only wanted to marry me so they can move over here.

Can you suggest what I can do?

Massi Says, Whilst online dating is an effective tool for some people, it can present a host of problems for others.

If you repeatedly encounter the problems you have mentioned in your letter, perhaps this forum is not for you.

Don't feel disheartened by your experience.

Try and get involved in social activities where you can meet like minded people.

You deserve to lead an enriched and fulfilled life, and your weight should not be a hindrance.

Now take your own steps to make it happen.

If you are confident within your own skin, that is an attractive trait in itself.

Don't put pressure on yourself to meet the ideal partner. Get to know men for friendship and companionship first.
