TRIBUTES have been paid to 15-year-old Zak Naseem Vali – the son of boxing promoter Asif Vali – who has lost his battle with cancer.

Mr Vali has been tirelessly fundraising for cancer charities since his son was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma in September last year.

Zak had been receiving treatment at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

His father said: “We wake up this morning with a son who has gone to heaven. As a family we are devastated but we have to prepare to send him to heaven.

“The Vali Family wish to thank everyone for the messages and prayers.”
