POLICE are trying to identify two brazen thieves who were caught on camera stealing bottles of wine from a shop in Queensbury.
The male duo targeted Cottage Stores, on Sandbeds, at 12.30pm yesterday. They can be seen strolling into the shop, helping themselves to wine, and walking back out again.
Shop owners Harjit and Sarbjit Kaur Bains were on the premises at the time. Their son Jetinder said his dad Harjit, 58, was doing administrative work in the shop's store room, while 56-year-old Sarbjit was making her way downstairs when the incident happened.
Jetinder said: "They heard the shop's door buzzer go and went into the shop but there was no-one there.
"It looks like the men were hovering about by the front door for a few minutes."
He added: "My parents are not too impressed. It seemed a bit desperate."
The couple have owned the shop since October 1997.
A police spokesman said enquiries into the crime were continuing and appealed for anyone who recognises the men to get in touch. Police can be contacted on 101.
