It was quite fitting and predictable that Israel should use the crash of Malaysian airliner as a time to launch a ground offensive.

Whilst the front pages feature the heart wrenching tragedy of the airliner, the Israeli defence force is creating a tragedy of its own.

Not that it would have mattered to the British press. The majority have continued to paint quite a pretty picture of what is essentially a very brutal episode.

With over 200 already dead let us take a look at how many British newspapers chose to feature the offensive this morning.

The death of one Israeli solider seemed to be more important than the death and carnage advanced weaponry was causing.

British reporting, known the world over for its championing of freedoms and highlighting massacres sits by and watches.

Regardless of what your political opinion I find it strange that journalists are finding it so difficult to report the truth.

Have news editors really become so accustomed to towing the Israeli propaganda that they have lost all sense of justice and fairness?

It would seem so.

As soon as the ground invasion began last night the TV news channels rolled out the Israeli defence spokesperson Mark Regev.
He appeared on channel after channel, aiming to lay the blame of killing children at the hands of Hamas.
And this morning I also awoke to a BBC report that ‘Gaza: What does Israel's ground offensive aim to achieve?’
This tried to make sense of the invasion. I am quite baffled as to see how the idea that Israel is destroying tunnels matters more than the deaths of civilians?

The article even is as bold to state: “But the primary aim is to bring pressure to bear on Hamas and other Palestinian groups to accept a ceasefire.

“Israel does not want to take back control of the Gaza Strip. It wants a return to calm.”

Indeed.
