The worlds top Islamic speakers converged on the World Trade Centre, Dubai over the weekend to broadcast a global Peace initiative.

Held once every two years the event supported by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Rashid Al Maktoum attracted up to 40,000 people over 3 days. It is now fast becoming a recognized event, broadcast over 200 countries and seen by millions.

Some of the star studded list of speakers included Dr. Naik from India, Yusuf Estes from the USA, Sheikh Sudais from Saudi Arabia, Mufti Ismail Menk, Noman Ali Khan and others.

Issues such as ‘Islam and social media’, ‘The role of the mother in Islam’ formed some of the extensive list of daily lectures given to the live audiences.

The venue afforded an extensive display of exhibitors with a 3D dome enabling regular 15 minute projections of ‘The Prophets” documentary. A number of discreet cubicles for one to one brief counselling sessions proved very popular. The mainly sub continent congregation advantage to access not only these scholars but other professionals at hand to educate, guide and support all matters Islamic and Peaceful towards a more fulfilling existence.

The overall event passed very successfully and concluded with a Question and Answer session by the now familiar Dr. Naik who alongside Yusuf Estes witnessed up to 30 converts over the weekend who took the Shahadah.

Sheikh Estes himself a convert in 1991 said “Soon we discover that by achieving more we want more and our journey towards happiness is never fulfilled. The real source of happiness is inner peace, which comes from wanting what we get and not from getting what we want.”

Speaking of Islam, Estes said: “It is the religion of tolerance and obedience; it is the religion of sincerity. No one can force any one to be sincere as no one can force any one to be a real Muslim, sincerity and Islam both emanate from the heart.”

He stressed on the importance of distinguishing between happiness and peace, as the material world holds lots of temptations, which seem to human beings as a source of happiness.

The next event is already scheduled for 2016 where even larger audiences are expected as Islam becomes the fastest growing practiced religion in the world, according to Dr. Naik.
