Pupils from Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School and Sixth Form College have dispatched 350 stationery bags to orphans in Somalia through the Mo Farah Foundation.

Working in partnership with Tauheedul Relief Trust and Mo Farah Foundation, the bags were designed and created by the pupils over the past few weeks. Each bag was then filled with stationery items.

Creative Arts Teacher Rukaiya Issa said:“This was an amazing heartfelt effort from our girls. They personally designed and personalised the bags and filled them with stationery which will directly impact the life of disadvantaged children overseas. Each bag contains items which will help take care of the children’s educational needs”.

Principal of Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School and Chief Executive of the Tauheedul Trust, Mufti Hamid Patel said, “Working in partnership with Tauheedul Relief Trust, our girls have once again demonstrated their commitment to helping disadvantaged children in the developing world. As a school, we raise thousands of pounds for local and global projects. We are passionate about transforming the lives of children and young people across the world.

“The Tauheedul stationery bags project is an innovative way of connecting with poor children in the developing world. We are grateful to Mo Farah Foundation for facilitating this project”.

Chief Operating Officer of the Mo Farah Foundation Diana Nell said, “Entering into the next stage of this partnership provides a key connection between pupils in the UK and students in Somalia further highlighting the importance of every child’s right to learn through the Mo Farah Foundation educational programmes.

“Being able to deliver learning tools created with such personal care and attention further cements the importance of this relationship and all it strives to achieve”.
